Rust wipe countdown
The next force wipe, the next weekly, and the six after that - in your timezone rather than somebody else's.
- No account, no sign-up
- Runs entirely in your browser
- Nothing is sent anywhere
Next force wipe
Blueprints and map. The one that resets everything.

Next weekly wipe
Map only, blueprints kept - and only if your server runs one.
Weekly wipes are a server-operator choice rather than a Facepunch event. Thursday is the convention because it lines up with the monthly, but yours can run any day - on our plans it is a scheduled task you set once.
The next six force wipes
For planning a season, a tournament or a launch.
This is a convention, not a timetable. Facepunch force-wipe with the monthly update, which lands on the first Thursday at roughly 19:00 UTC - but they ship when the build is ready, and it has slipped by hours before. Treat the countdown as the plan and the Rust news post as the fact.
What actually gets cleared
A force wipe clears the map and every player's blueprints. It is a Facepunch event tied to the monthly update, it applies everywhere, and no server can opt out of the blueprint half. This is the wipe people mean when they say "wipe day".
A weekly wipe clears the map and player inventories but leaves blueprints intact. It is entirely your operator's decision — the Thursday convention exists only because it rhymes with the monthly.
Neither clears your server's own configuration: plugins, Oxide permissions, admin lists, scheduled tasks. Those live outside the world save. New admins routinely expect to lose them and are relieved; occasionally one expects a wipe to clear a broken plugin config and is disappointed.
Planning around it
Force wipe is the busiest moment in a Rust server's month by a wide margin. Population on a healthy server can be four or five times a normal evening for the first few hours, and it is the one night your hosting is genuinely under test.
Two things are worth doing in advance. Restart shortly before the wipe so the server begins its busiest night with a clean allocation rather than three weeks of fragmented memory. And settle your map seed early — the spike is in the first hour, and regenerating because you did not like the map you got costs you precisely the window you were waiting for.
Weekly, biweekly or monthly
There is no correct answer, only a trade-off. Weekly suits servers that live on turnover and fresh starts. Monthly suits communities that want to build something worth defending. Biweekly is the common compromise and, judging by what people actually run, the most popular.
Pick one, publish it, and do not move it without notice. The schedule matters far less than its predictability — players plan their week around your wipe, and changing it quietly is the fastest way to lose the ones who care most.

A force wipe is Facepunch clearing blueprints across every server, and it lands with the monthly update on the first Thursday. A weekly wipe is your server operator resetting the map while keeping blueprints, on whatever schedule they choose. Only the first is out of anyone else's hands.
No, and be careful of anyone who says it is. Facepunch ship the monthly build when it is ready - usually around 19:00 UTC on the first Thursday, sometimes hours later. This counts down to the convention, not to a guarantee.
Blueprints are cleared for everyone whether you like it or not. The map is yours to choose. Plenty of servers regenerate the same day because players expect a fresh start, but a monthly server that keeps its map is a legitimate and increasingly popular format.
On our Rust plans, yes. Map regeneration, seed rotation and a Discord announcement are a scheduled task you configure once. Most of the wipe-night work is knowing it will happen without you sitting at the console.
It should not, and on our plans it does not. A wipe clears world and player data; your Oxide or Carbon configuration, permissions and plugin list live elsewhere in the server directory and survive it. That distinction is the single most common thing new admins get wrong.
Your server could be running before you finish this sentence.
