Small team, no middle management

Eleven people, fully remote across four timezones, all of whom run game servers of their own. If that sounds like the right size of company, read on.

Open roles (4)

Infrastructure Engineer

Remote (UTC-5 to UTC+3) Full time £65k–£85k
Apply

Own the physical layer: capacity planning across fourteen sites, network and transit relationships, DDoS mitigation tuning, and the automation that racks a node and puts it into production. You will be the person who decides what hardware we buy next year.

  • Linux
  • BGP / anycast
  • Ansible or Salt
  • Proxmox / KVM
  • Prometheus

Platform Engineer (Panel)

Remote (UTC-5 to UTC+3) Full time £60k–£80k
Apply

Build the control panel our customers spend their evenings in — the console, file manager, mod catalogue and scheduler. Roughly a PHP and TypeScript job, with enough Go around the agent layer to keep it interesting.

  • PHP
  • TypeScript
  • Go
  • Docker
  • Pterodactyl

Support Engineer

Remote (UTC+8 to UTC+12 preferred) Full time £38k–£48k
Apply

Answer tickets properly. We are hiring specifically into APAC hours to close a gap in our coverage. You need to actually run game servers — the difference between a good and bad answer here is whether you have debugged a Rust plugin at 2am yourself.

  • Game server admin
  • Linux basics
  • Oxide / BepInEx / Forge
  • Clear writing

Technical Writer (part time)

Remote (any timezone) Part time, 2 days
Apply

Our knowledgebase is decent and should be excellent. Turn recurring support tickets into guides that stop the ticket being filed again, and keep the game-specific documentation current as titles update.

  • Technical writing
  • Gaming literacy
  • Markdown
  • Screenshots that help

How hiring works here

  1. You email us. A few paragraphs about why this role and what you have run yourself. No cover letter theatre; we would rather read something you actually wrote than a template.
  2. A 45-minute call with whoever you would work alongside. Two-way — you should be interrogating us just as hard.
  3. A paid exercise, four hours maximum, on something close to real work. We pay for your time at the role's day rate whether or not we make an offer.
  4. A final conversation about money, expectations and start date.

The whole thing takes about two weeks. We reply to everyone, including no, and we try to do it inside a week rather than leaving you wondering.

What we are not

We are not a startup with a mission statement. We rent game servers, we are profitable, and we intend to still be doing it in ten years. There is no equity, no ping-pong table and no path to VP of anything, because there are eleven of us.

What there is: a small group of people who care a lot about a fairly narrow craft, and enough autonomy that nobody will ask you for a status update.

Speculative applications

Always welcome, and about a third of the team joined that way. Tell us what you would want to work on. If it is something we need and have not thought to advertise, that is usually the best possible start.

Ready when you are

Your server could be running before you finish this sentence.

Pick a game, pick a region, pick your slots. We handle the rest - and if it is not right within 72 hours, you get your money back.

  • No setup fee
  • No contract
  • 72-hour money-back
  • Free region moves
