The short version
In 2019 a handful of us were running a Rust server on a well-known budget host. Wipe night meant rubber-banding, the "unlimited" plan turned out to be a heavily oversold VPS, and the support replies were clearly templated. We moved to a dedicated box, learned how much of the difference was just not overselling it, and started renting slices to friends.
Six years later that is still the whole strategy: buy good hardware, sell less of it than we could, and answer tickets like a person.
What we actually believe
Overselling is the original sin of game hosting. Almost every performance complaint in this industry traces back to a host putting more customers on a box than it can serve at peak. We cap allocation at 70% of real capacity and stop selling on a node when it fills up. It costs us margin. It is the entire product.
Features should not be a pricing lever. DDoS protection, backups, mod tooling, full file access and the scheduler are on every plan including the cheapest one. Charging extra for a backup is charging extra for the thing that makes hosting trustworthy.
Support is an engineering function. Tickets are answered by people who run servers, not by a script. When the same question comes up repeatedly we treat it as a bug in the product or the documentation and fix it there.
Say what happened. When we break something we post about it on the status page with what went wrong and what changed as a result.
