About Renown
Renown puts directional medieval combat and base building on the same persistent map, and the combat half is unforgiving about hosting quality in a way that shooting games are not. A parry is a timing window measured in a few frames, resolved server-side; twenty milliseconds of avoidable latency is the difference between a read that works and one that does not. That is a single-thread and a network-path problem, and both are things you pick a host for.
Why run it with us
- Clock speed over core count. Melee resolution is not something you can parallelise. These run on high-frequency Ryzen rather than dense many-core hardware.
- Put it near the fight. Fourteen regions, and one free move per billing period if your community's centre of gravity turns out to be somewhere else.
- Building persists, so backups matter. The map keeps what players construct. It is backed up nightly off-node, and restoring is two clicks rather than a ticket.
