About Dark and Light
Dark and Light is built on the same Unreal codebase as ARK, and that is the useful thing to know before you rent one: the server is configured through GameUserSettings.ini and Game.ini with the same multiplier syntax, Steam Workshop mods install the same way, and it inherits ARK's appetite for memory as the map fills with structures. If you have run ARK, you already know how to run this.
Why run it with us
- The ini files are the game. Rates, taming speed and decay all live in GameUserSettings.ini. We put both files in the panel editor rather than hiding them behind a settings form that covers a third of them.
- Memory sized for a built-up map. The engine does not give structures back cheaply. These plans are provisioned for a world that has been lived in, not a fresh one.
- A smaller game, honestly priced. The population is well past its peak and we are not going to pretend otherwise. What that means for you is that a 28-slot server is plenty, and we default to it rather than upselling.
Getting started
Pick your slot count, billing cycle and region above and the server provisions automatically - most are joinable inside a minute. If it is not right within 72 hours, we refund you in full.
